Mohave County is one of 15 counties in Arizona. It is located in the northwestern corner of the US state of Arizona. Its western border is with both California and Nevada. On the north, it is bordered by Nevada and Utah. On the east, its neighbor is Yavapai County. To the south, it shares a border with La Paz County.

The estimated population in 2004 was 179,981. This was an increase of 16.09% from the 2000 census. The county seat is Kingman. The largest city is Lake Havasu City.
Mohave County contains part of Grand Canyon National Park, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, and all of the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument. The Kaibab, Fort Mohave and Hualapai Indian Reservations also lie within the county.

Economy:

Tourism remains a major portion of the county economy, but mining and the railroad are still important. Other portions of the local economy include manufacturing, ranching, and warehouse/distribution. Designated enterprise zones are located in the four major cities of the county - Bullhead City, Colorado City, Lake Havasu City and Kingman.

Size:

13,479 square miles with 186 square miles of this number as water. Mohave is the second largest county in the state with most of the land being desert. There are 1,000 miles of shoreline helping the area with water recreational activities. Most of this activity occurs at the Colorado River and several man-made lakes. In fact, the cities of Lake Havasu City and Bullhead City owe their large growth to these water-related activities.
The Colorado River forms the county's western boundary, and California, Nevada, and Utah all border it.
